Little wonders and big trouble

Sorry i havent posted for a while, but i have been busy busy busy, we took a family trip to Fiji for one weekend, it was for a family affair, the wonder is how she had managed to get on top of the 9ft high entertainment center. She pulled out the wireless box and hid it in her toy chest. Apperantly she didt like the flashing lights on the box. She was just laying around when i got home, i wondered why her television program wasnt on. Usually she watches a program on sky 1 its a fijian channel we get. I asked her what happend to the internet and she didnt respond, she hasnt been responding lately becuase she gets to a point where she says 1 word and then regresses back again. I forgot what the word is where they hit a certain point in comprehension and stop. So she is stuck with the comprehension of about a 4 year old is what the doctors told us.

Autism and the non believers

sigh... she came up to me with the tap to talk program and her pecs explaining how someone didn't believe that she had a regression and had become more severe. i dont tell anyone except people i dont know what she has. so i know that she was telling someone all the things i tell her she has well so she has classic autism or kanners with regression seizures mental retardation and plateau with a few other things like slight dyslexia well when she was little she was completely severe then she learned to talk when she was 7 and she talked until last year when she hit the severe regression. so basically you couldn't tell something was wrong with her except if you looked closely because she had much intervention. now they tell her not to talk 5 specialists and a lot of therapists well she hit a regression so she got worse she cant talk in front of people anymore, also she had severe seizures a few month ago that messed up her brain petty badly so that made it harder to function for her. also the plateau they told me is when she cant learn anymore from that point because her brain has had enough. and this is at that point for her right now. yes she can dress herself and use the bathroom herself, but she has S.I.B.  that doesn't mean she is high functioning. yes she can understand many thing and can hear them but it takes her a minute to process it and sometimes she will hear it and look but her brain will just process it in sounds so she will look and hear but may not actually hear the words. other times her brain will say that she doesn't hear it at all. she also has sensory issues when her brain wont filter things so everything comes in at once and sounds are too loud and lights are too bright. she told me with cards that someone told her that because before she talked a lot and did a lot of stuff so this was just emotional but that is wrong because she has had this all her life. they even tested emotional aspects all of them but they came up as that they didn't affect her. every autistic child is different. even a another person who has an autistic child cant believe that she has what she has.  please comment on this and tell me what you think.

Autism Everyday

hello sorry i havent posted recently. but i am back. i took my daughter to the mall to get some shoes. she really didn't like being there but then we went to the vans outlet. she got two pairs, one is red and black the other is white and black. after that she was trying to play her games on the iphone and again on the ipad but she isn't really good at games any more ever since the regression. when we got home i turned on the music channel and there was a song called buzzin on and she was dancing to it until she fell over. after that we helped walk her to her room and turned on the lava lamp and she was staring at it for about an hour until she fell asleep.  we had to put it up high so she wouldn't grab it and burn herself or pull it over.   now we also got a new binder for her pecs cards. her old one got too small. it was dark green and the new one is lime green.

Back, and Upset?

ok so my step daughter got back. she is upset, yea that's normal for her but also, she doesn't talk any more because of the regression she is in, it  is a very severe regression, and also she has severe autism,(classic autism) so it really makes this worse, well back to what i was saying, when she came back she wouldn't let me touch her at all, usually she lets me a little because she is sensitive so little things can feel like someone is stabbing her with a knife, well the not touching thing is alarming me a bit because unless someone grabbed her hand or leg for a long time i think happened, this probably traumatized her, i checked this isn't because she didn't take her meds, which i know she didn't but because the meds if she does or doesn't take them, this is not normal, it is mostly because of the regression, it is not because anything happened when she was really young because it didn't, this happened over the weekend. so when she was born she was going to be born in august, but then her mother went into labor in march, and she was being born, she had come half way out on march 24 but then they prevented the pregnancy from happening until June, Carmen Lorena Sanchez(middle names and birth last name we don't put first name up for safety)she was still born 2 months early. they told her mother there were going to be problems, when she was 1 and a half they diagnosed autism. her birth mother didn't have enough money to keep her so she put her up for adoption, she was adopted and i have been in her life since.     they say she wont come out of this regression.  we all love you carmen and we are praying for you. peace love joy. momms

Love, the girl trapped inside

when i look into her eyes, i see nothing just emptiness, she has the brownest eyes ever, now they are blue from contacts. i talk to her she doesn't respond, music is the only thing that i think gets through to her. i try and hug her she pulls away and shrieks, i don't get to look in those brown eyes now, they just look away, everything has to be to her schedule. i try to go somewhere crowded other kids love she hide in a corner and flaps her hands. her little world, trapped inside. simple things set her into screaming fits, other like sometimes when she is hurt she wont tell us cause she doesn't even notice. i love you Carmen.  she can not even sit still she stims, runs, and makes odd noise in public. i am sure her world must be OK if she stays in her world, or else its scary. i think that when we talk to her she responds, but we cant hear it, i bet when we talk to her she speaks back in her little world though. she wanders off alot, i am in a battle against the autism, and she is in the battle probably trying to get around it, and show us her beautiful self. love peace and joy.momms

Small THings, Some Good And Others Bad

My step daughter uses PECS, to communicate, but sometimes she will say Ba, for ball (so we think) or bo bo for bubble, but we really cant be sure. she inspires us lol, she is very tough to handle, lol.   she really likes music so we bought her an ipod and loaded it with songs, we clip it behind her and put the ear buds under her headphones. she goes to countless therapies, ABA, music, speech,ot,pt,floortime, massage therapy, play therapy,Holding therapy, medications, hyperbaric-oxygen therapy, dietary intervention, chiropractic, canine companion, assistive technology, and other in school. those are the many therapies we do daily. sounds like alot. yeah. it is. we have the tantrums too, and the broken items around the house. holding therapy works the best, if you ever meet my daughter and she doesnt respond, hold her in a way like a hugs, hold her arms down and speak softly to her.  i will include a pic of her also but she loves certain things, like throwing blocks against the wall, oh great now we have little dents in the walls, and stepping on the dog when im not in the room, well please comment and leave ideas for therapies and stuff ok thank you.

The Autistic Is One WIth The X-Box

my stepdaughter, we bought her a x-box, with kinect for Christmas because we thought it was a good way for her to play and keep her active, she is severe and cant really play normal video games. when she plays, she is actually stimming and viewing the colors not the actual game. well she love the colors but we have to be careful about seizures happening, she has been playing about an hour, much longer than we normally let her play. the thing is that when she stims, it is a kinect sensor so you dont need a controller just your body, but oh yeah when she stims, it picks up her movement and makes things happen on the screen like colors, pictures, and sounds that she likes, what a great present comment on what you think please.

    god bless,

Old Time Church and Restrictions

why is it that the people who go to older time church, they cant cut there hair, were pants or do all these things like not to wear makeup,my autistic daughter would never fit in here, i looked up on a few bible websites, 7 to be exact it said that you must not round your hair or shave a beard, which they all said applies to guys, they said the not wearing pants thing for women was said in the old testament, but most pentecostal church s sayas mine that the pants thing is a personal conviction. they say you will not be damned, also the hair thing is untrue because as long as you keep it long and healthy its okay, you may cut off the dead ends. so why all the restrictions, because they believe they have to follow Gods word exactly to live a holy life, not true, you can still be holy and not wear a skirt, cut your hair and wear makeup. how will this work for an autistic child. that's severe , these are all told to be personal convictions not godly ones

A Day In The Life

hello, this is really my step daughters blog, but she has regressed, she has severe autism. since she has regressed i took over her blog. today we went to target. and guess what, we forgot her special noise canceling headphones, and only had the i pod ones, it was a disaster. she was screeching through the whole store cause of the noise. she went running around.we couldn't control her. she saw a toy she wanted in some other persons basket and just took it, the thing is that we don't tell people that she has autism we just say, do you see something wrong with my child and they just walk away. comment on this and tell me what you  think
